If you’re anything like me, you have a few levequests stacked up and ready to complete. It’s not uncommon for players I’ve asked to say they have 99 levequests, let’s put them to good use and make a bunch of Gil while we are at it!
First, to unlock the quest “A Cookie for Your Troubles” you need to have a level 78 Culinarian. At this point, you could go buy the materials, craft the cookies and make a profit but to maximize the potential Gil made, I will show you another way. For this, you will need a Botanist that is also level 78. I recommend having a level 80 Botanist retainer as this will save you from having to gather the materials yourself.
The materials will need to be gathered at least once by yourself, so your retainers can also gather them. You will need Upland Wheat Flour, Garden Beet Sugar, and Coffee Beans to craft the biscuits.
Upland Wheat can be found in Kholusia, after gathering it, you will need to craft it into Upland Wheat Flour. It is up to you if you want to craft HQ or NQ, I use quick synthesis for Upland Wheat Flour and Garden Beet Sugar.
Garden Beets can be found in Il Mheg, like before, you will want to craft these to make Garden Beet Sugar.
The Coffee Beans can also be found in Kholusia and it just so happens that this is a great spot for getting Timeworn Zonureskin Maps. After collecting all the materials needed, it's time to craft!
We want to craft HQ Coffee Biscuits because for HQ turn-ins we get double the Gil! If you have a level 80 Culinarian at i500 then you can use a pretty common macro that will get you HQ biscuits every time. Depending on whether you gather NQ or HQ materials will depend on the macro you want to use.
This macro works well for NQ items so you could cut it down for HQ and even optimize it to suit your character item level plus materia. For each successful craft, you will get 3 HQ Coffee Biscuits, you will want to turn in 9 per leve! After you have finished crafting head to The Crystarium, use the Aethernet for a quick trip to The Crystalline Mean and you’ll find the quest giver and also the quest turn-in. After handing the first three over you will be prompted with this UI. Simply confirm that you want to submit additional items and make more Gil!
That's it! Let's do the math on the Gil you can make simply by sending your retainer to collect materials. I’ll be using an average of 3000 Gil per 3 HQ Coffee Biscuits which doubles to 6000.
6,000 x 3(turn-ins)
18,000 x 6(levequests per day)
108,000 x 7 (day in a week)
It’s about 720–800,000 Gil per week! I spend less than 2 hours per week crafting these biscuits needed so the time investment really works for me.
You can also skip this whole guide and just buy the Coffee Biscuits from the MB if that is your preference, there are many ways to make Gil in FFXIV and this is just one of them. I recommend making Gil in the most fun or interesting way for yourself.
